Purpose
The mission of the Nominating Committee is to nominate candidate(s) if necessary for each of the Board of Directors open positions for the elections at the biennial meetings.
Responsible for:
The Nominating Committee will consider the need for diversity of geography, gender and professional specialty finding a balance between the needs of the Society and its international flavor. Candidates from the proposal of the Nominating Committee might have to face the election during the Business Meeting with other members properly appointed in comply with the society’s bylaws.

Edgardo F. Becher, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr Becher graduated as a physician at the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in 1983 receiving the “Honor Diploma”. He completed the residency program in Urology at the Department of Urology, Hospital de Clínicas “José de San Martín” (University of Buenos Aires) and served two clinical fellowships at the Departments of Urology of the William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, MI and University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN USA. In 1995 he completed his Ph.D. in Surgery at the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine, where he currently serves as Adjunct Professor of Urology.
Dr. Becher is member of several professional medical associations, frequent international presenter, author of many peer review publications and book chapters in the field of Urology and Sexual Medicine.
Dr. Becher served as President of both the International and Latin American Societies for Sexual Medicine (ISSM and SLAMS) and is currently Medical Director at Centro de Urología – CDU in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Past President of the International Society for Sexual Medicine MD, Ph.D, FECSM, Professor Giraldi is Senior Consultant in Psychiatry in the Sexological Clinic at Psychiatric Center Copenhagen and Professor of Clinical Sexology at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, where she also received her medical degree and PhD. Professor Giraldi has been involved in the field of sexual medicine for many years, educating medical students, nurses, physicians and psychologists in sexual medicine.
Professor Giraldi has been involved in basic research on vascular and smooth muscle function in male and female sexual responses, clinical research on the pharmacological treatment of erectile dysfunction and female sexual desire and arousal disorders as well as in research on somatic disease, psychiatric problems and sexuality. Clinically Professor Giraldi works with men, women and couples with sexual dysfunctions as well with transgender care.
Professor Giraldi has published more than 100 papers, editorials and book chapters in the field of male and female sexual medicine. She is Past Deputy Editor of the Journal of Sexual Medicine and has served as an Associate Editor for Sexual and Relationship Therapy and Sexual Medicine Among her many professional affiliations, Professor Giraldi was previously President of both the Scandinavian Society for Sexual Medicine and the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, where she has also served on the Board and Scientific Committee. In addition, she was Chair of the subcommittee on Female Sexual Health for the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM).

Dr. Wayne J.G. Hellstrom is a Professor of Urology and the Chief of Andrology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is the past President of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, the American Society of Andrology, and the International Society of Sexual Medicine. Dr. Hellstrom has authored or co-authored over 100 book chapters and more than 560 peer-reviewed journal articles. He received his M.D. from McGill University in Montreal, where he also completed a residency in general surgery. He then went on to complete a urology residency at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by an AUA scholar-funded fellowship in andrology at the University of California, Davis.

Luca Incrocci

Luca Incrocci is Professor of genito-urinary radiotherapy and sexologist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. His research is mainly focused on Quality of Life of cancer patients, particularly sexual functioning, and on the development of radiation techniques to decrease side effects after radiation therapy for urological malignancies. Prof. Incrocci is involved in education and training in several African countries, also helping in the development of research programs.He is a member of several scientific societies including the European Association of Urology, the European and International Societies for Sexual Medicine. Prof. Incrocci is a manuscript reviewer for a number of international journals and is the Past-President of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (2016- 2018). He authored more than 200 peer-reviewed papers, reviews, and book chapters and has co-edited the books: Handbook of Sexual and Gender Identity Disorder and Cancer and Sexual Function.

Dr. Nagao completed 8 years of plastic surgery training at Showa University Plastic Surgery, obtained the Board certified specialist by Japan Society for plastic surgery, then studied urology at the Department of Urology, Toho University, obtained the Board certified specialist by Japanese Urological Association, the Board certified specialist by Japan Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Board certified specialist by Japanese Society for Sexual Medicine.
Dr. Nagao studied andrology, sexual medicine, and pediatric urology from Dr. Tom Lue, Dr. Baskin, and Dr. Turek at the University of California, San Francisco. His main academic focus and field of study is microsurgery and plastic surgery in the urogenital area. He has published over 100 papers.
Dr. Nagao is the President of JSSM, the Vice President of JSRM, the President of APSSM and the LOC of WMSM2021.

Eduardo Bertero, Urologist since 1990. Was a Research Fellow between 1991 and 1993 at Boston University with mentors Irwin Goldstein and Robert Krane. Currently head of the department of male sexual function and penile prosthetic and reconstruction surgery at high volume public state hospital in São Paulo, Brazil. He also runs his own private practice, mainly in Male sexual dysfunction and surgery.
Dr. Lawrence C. Jenkins received his MD from the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He finished his urology training at the University of Miami and followed that with a fellowship in Male Sexual and Reproductive Medicine at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and the Center for Male Reproductive Medicine and Microsurgery at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York, NY. Dr. Jenkins practices at the Tulane University Department of Urology, as an Associate Professor, where he focuses on male sexual and reproductive medicine.
