Purpose
The mission of the committee is to manage the society’s conflict of interest policy and oversees the review of disclosures for potential conflicts of interest.
Responsible for:
The ISSM COI Committee is responsible for identifying potential Conflict of Interests and to advise the ISSM Leadership on any issue caused due to a Conflict of Interest.
Committee members have quarterly online meetings and are expected to actively participate in the review of disclosures for potential conflicts of interest from ISSM committee members and those in leadership positions.
Higher workloads are expected during January and February each year, when 200+ COI declarations are to be reviewed (out of which 20-30% typically declare a COI).
In addition, committee members may be asked to contribute to a bi-annual report (mid-term and end of the year), prepared by the committee chair for review by the President and ISSM Board.

Ira D. Sharlip, M.D., is Clinical Professor of Urology at the University of California at San Francisco. He is Founder and a Past- President of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America. He is a Past Secretary- General of ISSM, a Past President of ISSM and a co- founder of the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

Luca Incrocci
The Netherlands
Luca Incrocci is Professor of genito-urinary radiotherapy and sexologist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. His research is mainly focused on Quality of Life of cancer patients, particularly sexual functioning, and on the development of radiation techniques to decrease side effects after radiation therapy for urological malignancies. Prof. Incrocci is involved in education and training in several African countries, also helping in the development of research programs. He is a member of several scientific societies including the European Association of Urology, the European and International Societies for Sexual Medicine. Prof. Incrocci is a manuscript reviewer for a number of international journals and is the Past-President of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (20162018). He authored more than 200 peer-reviewed papers, reviews, and book chapters and has co-edited the books: Handbook of Sexual and Gender Identity Disorder and Cancer and Sexual Function.

Edgardo F. Becher, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr Becher graduated as a physician at the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in 1983 receiving the “Honor Diploma”. He completed the residency program in Urology at the Department of Urology, Hospital de Clínicas “José de San Martín” (University of Buenos Aires) and served two clinical fellowships at the Departments of Urology of the William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, MI and University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN USA. In 1995 he completed his Ph.D. in Surgery at the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine, where he currently serves as Adjunct Professor of Urology.
Dr. Becher is member of several professional medical associations, frequent international presenter, author of many peer review publications and book chapters in the field of Urology and Sexual Medicine.
Dr. Becher served as President of both the International and Latin American Societies for Sexual Medicine (ISSM and SLAMS) and is currently Medical Director at Centro de Urología – CDU in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Anita Clayton

Anita H. Clayton, MD is the Wilford W. Spradlin Professor and Chair of Psychiatry & Neurobehavioral Sciences and Professor of Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Virginia. She has published over 222 peer-reviewed papers.
She has focused her clinical practice and research on:
• major depressive disorder - Principal Investigator for essentially all the new antidepressants since 1991
• mood disorders associated with reproductive-life events in women (reproductive psychiatry) - diagnosis and treatment
• sexual dysfunction (SD) and other adverse effects of psychiatric/medical illness and substances/medications, and algorithmic management of SD
• sexual disorders - nomenclature/classification; validated measures of SD including the Changes in Sexual Functioning Questionnaire (CSFQ), the Sexual Interest and Desire Inventory-Female (SIDI-F), and the Decreased Sexual Desire Screener (DSDS) She served on the BOD for the American Society for Clinical Psychopharmacology (ASCP), as Program Committee Co-Chair x 2 years, and began her 6-year term as President Elect/President/Past President in 2023.
Dr. Clayton co-edited Women’s Mental Health: A Comprehensive Textbook, and authored Satisfaction: Women, Sex, and the Quest for Intimacy for the general public. She is an international leader in Female Sexual Dysfunction; Past President of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH); Vice-Chair for Women’s Sexual Health for the 3rd and 4th International Consultation on Sexual Medicine (ICSM) and recently Co-Chair on ICSM Committee on Psychiatric Disorders, Psychopharmacology and Sexual Dysfunction; WHO advisory committee on the ICD-11 chapter, Conditions Related to Sexual Health; and Scientific Program Committee for the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM).
