Global Outreach Committee

Committee members have quarterly online meetings and are expected to actively contribute and advise on improving knowledge and developing education activities on sexual medicine in developing countries.

Once a year (during Q3) the committee reviews applications for the ISSM Global Outreach Committee Grant through the online review portal (around 5-10 applications to be reviewed over a period of two weeks).

In addition, committee members may be asked to contribute to a bi-annual report (mid-term and end of the year), prepared by the committee chair for review by the President and ISSM Board.

Expected time commitment per month: 2 hours

Chun Wai Chan, MD MPH, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine of International Medical University (IMU), Malaysia. He runs a men’s health clinic in Kuala Lumpur. Dr Chan first obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Calgary, Canada then moved to America for his residency training subsequently. With a great passion for teaching, he took up the highly competitive Faculty Development Fellowship from the University of Pittsburgh, USA.

Dr Chan was the director for the Advanced Training in Family Medicine (ATFM) programme and served as the chairman for ATFM Board. Besides having exemplary leadership, he is also active in publication. Dr Chan was also invited to speak in international conferences alongside with other academicians and experts from around the world. He co-authored a well-received examination preparation book for both the local and Australian doctors who are sitting for the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) Examination.

Dr. Lawrence C. Jenkins received his MD from the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He finished his urology training at the University of Miami and followed that with a fellowship in Male Sexual and Reproductive Medicine at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and the Center for Male Reproductive Medicine and Microsurgery at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York, NY. Dr. Jenkins practices at the Tulane University Department of Urology, as an Associate Professor, where he focuses on male sexual and reproductive medicine.

Amr Abdelhamed, is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology, Venereology & Andrology, Sohag University Hospitals, Sohag, Egypt. I completed my master's degree (2009) in male reproductive functions in diabetes mellitus and, MD degree (2016) in silent myocardial infarction and erectile dysfunction. I had an Andrology scholarship in Japan for 2 years at Juntendo University, Tokyo, Japan. My research work is focused on clinical and experimental researches about sexual dysfunction especially in diabetes.

I got the European Academy of Andrology (EAA) certification in male genital ultrasound, after training in 2 EAA centers (Rome- Florence) for 1 month. Also, I become a fellow of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine (FECSM) after passing the exam in Portugal (2018). In addition to my growing publications in the field of andrology, I contributed reviewing to SMJ, SMOA, IJIR, and Andrologia Journals.

Abdulaziz Baazeem is a Saudi Urologist and Andrologist.

Dr. Baazeem was class valedictorian at graduation from King Abdulaziz University. He went on to complete his residency in urology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He also obtained fellowships in Laser Prostatic Surgery and in Andrology from McGill University.

He is an Associate Professor of Urology at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah. His private practice is at Clinicare, Jeddah. Dr. Baazeem is a Past President of the Middle East Society for Sexual Medicine (MESSM). Prior to that, he also served as Chairman of the MESSM Scientific and Communication Committees and sat on its Board of Directors as an ordinary director. He is the current Chairman of the Society’s Scientific Committee. He was also a Board member of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties’ Urology Scientific Council as well as a member of the Saudi Urology Board Examination Committee. He was an associate editor for Sexual Medicine and was on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Sexual Medicine and is an Editorial Board member of Urology Annals.

Dr. Itor Finotelli Junior (he/they) is a renowned psychologist, psychometrist, and human sexuality specialist, serving as the President of the Brazilian Society for the Study of Human Sexuality (SBRASH). Based in Campinas, Brazil, his work focuses on the intersections of sexual and gender health, psychological well-being, and advocacy for inclusive care. As a clinician, researcher, and Brazilian leader committed to sexual rights, Itor adopts a compassionate, evidence-based approach to addressing the complexities of human sexuality. A Master and PhD in Psychological Assessment, he further enhanced his expertise during his postdoctoral position in the Doug Braun-Harvey Fellowship in Compulsive Sexual Behavior at the University of Minnesota. Recognized for his dedicated and collaborative approach, combined with an interdisciplinary methodology, he has participated in a wide range of international committees to advance knowledge, care, and policies in the field of sexuality studies. Passionate about empowering individuals and promoting systemic change, Itor continuously works to create environments where people can fully embrace their sexualities, bodies, and identities, challenge social norms, and achieve greater well-being in their personal and relational lives.

Luca Incrocci is Professor of genito-urinary radiotherapy and sexologist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. His research is mainly focused on Quality of Life of cancer patients, particularly sexual functioning, and on the development of radiation techniques to decrease side effects after radiation therapy for urological malignancies. Prof. Incrocci is involved in education and training in several African countries, also helping in the development of research programs.He is a member of several scientific societies including the European Association of Urology, the European and International Societies for Sexual Medicine. Prof. Incrocci is a manuscript reviewer for a number of international journals and is the Past-President of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (2016- 2018). He authored more than 200 peer-reviewed papers, reviews, and book chapters and has co-edited the books: Handbook of Sexual and Gender Identity Disorder and Cancer and Sexual Function.

Dr. Du Geon Moon is Head Professor of Urology, Korea University College of Medicine, Seoul, Korea. He graduated from Korea University and got Ph.D at Korea University in 1997. He was trained Residency at Korea University Medical center. In 2004-2005, I studied in WakeForest Institute of Regenerative Medicine in Winston Salem, NC, USA.He is working at Urology, Korea University Guro hospital as Director of KU Institute of Regenerative Medicine, and Director of KU Guro Hosp, Penoplasty & Urethral Reconstruction Center. He is a member of National Academy of Medicine of Korea, current President of APSSM (Asia Pacific Society for Sexual Medicine), ASoPS (Asian Society of Penile Surgery) and past President of KSSMA (Korean Society for Sexual Medicine and Andrology), KSMHA (Korean Society for Men’s Health and Aging) and Vice-president of KSRM (Korean Society for Reproductive Medicine) and Secretary General of APSSM and APSMHA (Asia Pacific Society for Men’s Health and Aging). He is the creator of GPA and PGE with HA filler and the author of book chapter in 13 textbooks regarding Andrology, Aging & Men’s Health, and Regenerative Medicine and has over 170 peer-reviewed articles in International Journals and hundreds of invited lectures.

She is very active member of Mongolian Urological Socitey. As an expert of andrology and Urology she has been working as Expert of her field in Ministry of Health Mongolia.

Dr. Fahim Liyakat Husain Rajiwate is a distinguished urologist and Andrologist based in Bangalore, India, with a profound commitment to advancing sexual medicine and male infertility care. Holding an MBBS, MS (General Surgery), and MCh (Urology), Dr. Rajiwate has pursued specialized training in andrology and sexual medicine in USA, complemented by fellowship in andrology in India. Dr. Rajiwate has made contributions to the field through clinical practice, research, and education. His academic endeavors include presenting work on low-intensity shock wave therapy and novel diagnostic techniques for erectile dysfunction and non obstructive azoospermia at international conferences. His efforts to raise awareness about male sexual dysfunction and infertility extend to innovative public outreach, including educational campaigns and social media engagement.

As a dedicated mentor and collaborator, Dr. Rajiwate actively seeks to bridge gaps in sexual medicine care, particularly in resource-constrained settings. He is passionate about fostering equitable access to education and treatment, employing culturally sensitive and technology-driven solutions. His leadership aspirations include empowering healthcare providers, nurturing future leaders in sexual medicine, and driving global initiatives through organizations like the ISSM.
