Purpose
The mission is to oversee the development and production of ISSM’s publications, including the journals (JSM, SM, SMR, VJPU) and any other newsletters, guidelines, or documents. To provide direction to editors and the staff concerning format, schedule, market and distribution, etc. concerning these publications.
Responsible for:

Oversee the development and production of ISSM’s publications, including the journals, the Journal of Sexual Medicine (JSM), Sexual Medicine Online Access (SMOA), Sexual Medicine Reviews (SMR), and Video Journal of Prosthetic Urology VJPU) and any other newsletter, guidelines, or official documents of a publication nature.

To provide direction to the editors and staff concerning ISSM policy and protocols, format, scheduling, marketing, and distribution concerning these publications should clarification be required.

Ensure all parties to the Publishing Agreement adhere to the legally-binding clauses and oversee the overall management of the Publishing Agreement itself, including, as and when such a time necessitates, conducting a process to sign a new Publishing Agreement or renew an existing Agreement.

Announce new Editor-in-chief vacancies in order to have candidates apply for the vacancies in a structured frame-work, with then appropriate selection of a new position for such vacated through a structured interview process. After selection, the recommendation will be forwarded to the executive board of ISSM for final approval and appointment.

Hear and mediate any disputes between any of the editors-in-chief of the family of journals of the ISSM and any disputes between editor-in chief and the Publisher.

Hear and mediate any dispute between the family journals and any disputes raised by third parts, such as authors, readers, etc.
Committee members have quarterly online meetings and are expected to oversee the development and production of ISSM’s portfolio of journals and other publications.
During Q1 of each year, the committees review COI declarations submitted by all Editorial Board members. Other duties are year-round.
In addition, committee members may be asked to contribute to a bi-annual report (mid-term and end of the year), prepared by the committee chair for review by the President and ISSM Board.

Fernando Facio Jr., M.D. Ph.D., was a Research Fellow in the Department of Urology at Johns Hopkins University (2008-2009) under the supervision of Dr. Arthur L. Burnett. His research experience is in erectile dysfunction including its physiology and regulation of penile rehabilitation. He is experienced in animal surgeries, biochemistry, physiology and molecular biology.
He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urology of the School of Medicine in Sao Jose do Rio Preto (FAMERP), Brazil, teaching in undergraduate course (Medicine) and Post-graduation Program (Health Sciences). Coordinator of the Research Group on Sexual Medicine in Brazilian Research Council (CNPq). Former Member of the International Society of Sexual Medicine (ISSM) - Education Committee, and Vice-Chair of ISSM - Grants & Prizes Committee. Currently, is the President of Latin American Society for Sexual Medicine (SLAMS)
It has experience in Urology with an emphasis on men's health, mainly in the following themes: erectile dysfunction, priapism, Peyronie's disease, premature ejaculation, and male androgenic disorders of aging.

R. Clinton Webb

R. Clinton Webb received his Ph.D. in Anatomy from the University of Iowa in 1976. He did postdoctoral training at the University of Michigan and the Universitaire Instelling Antwerpen. In March 2020, he accepted a professorship at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine where he directs the Cardiovascular Translational Research Center. His research interests focus on the physiology of smooth muscle in hypertension and sexual dysfunction.

Sheryl Kingsberg

Dr. Sheryl Kingsberg is the chief of the division of behavioral medicine at MacDonald Women’s Hospital/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Professor in Reproductive Biology, Urology and Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University. Her areas of clinical specialization include female sexual disorders, menopause, pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders, and psychological aspects of infertility.
Dr. Kingsberg’s primary research interests are in treatments for female sexual disorders, genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) and reproductive mental health. She is an Associate Editor for Sexual Medicine Reviews and sits on the editorial boards of the journals Menopause and Climacteric. She has over 100 peer-reviewed publications and numerous book chapters and has co-edited a multidisciplinary textbook on treating female sexual disorders.
Dr. Kingsberg is a past president of The North American Menopause Society and The International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health. She currently serves as the Advocacy Committee Chair for both of these organizations.

David Rowland

David Rowland, Senior Research Professor of Psychology at Valparaiso University, USA, received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in psychology in 1977, and has held fellowships at SUNY-Stony Brook in Psychiatry, Stanford University in Physiology, Erasmus Medical Center (Netherlands) in Endocrinology, and the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in Mental and Behavioral Health. His research and scholarship have focused on understanding psychophysiological relationships, particularly insofar as they are applied to psychosexual response in men and women.
Rowland has published over 240 research papers, review articles, and book chapters related to sexual behavior and function, maintaining active collaborations with colleagues in Hungary, Romania, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Australia. He has authored and co-edited several books, including The Handbook of Sexual and Gender Identity Disorders (2008), Sexual Dysfunction in Men (2012), Proceedings on Translational Medicine (2018), and Cultural Differences and the Practice of Sexual Medicine (2020). In addition to holding positions on numerous editorial boards, he served as editor of the Annual Review of Sex Research 2005-2009, is co-founder and co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Mind and Medical Science (JMMS), and is editor-in-chief of the journal Sexes.

Dr. Rui Jiang got his MD and PhD degree in Zhejiang University, and he is currently the chief physician, professor,and doctoral supervisor of the department of urology of the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University in China. He has been focused on male sexual dysfunction for more than 30 years. He is a member at large of the Sexual Medicine Branch of the Chinese Sexual Society.
