Purpose
The general mission of the education committee shall be to fulfill the needs of the members by making quality and diverse educational opportunities available to as many members of the association as possible. A specific obligation is to develop the ISSM University as a curriculum and guideline in sexual medicine that can be disseminated globally.
Responsible for:

- Develop the ISSM University as a curriculum and guideline in sexual medicine that can be disseminated globally.
- Develop a long-term educational strategy in collaboration with affiliated societies that will fulfill the need of members and reassure the quality of sexual medicine health care.
- Assure the quality and accuracy of educational content which is developed for the above modalities.
- Support educational projects from regional societies to improve sexual medicine training and scientific information dissemination.
Committee members have quarterly online meetings, although the individual subcommittees meet more regularly on a monthly basis. Committee members are expected to actively contribute and advise on a range of educational projects as outlined below:
ISSM monthly webinars (separate subcommittee) – review content, suggest topics, speakers and moderators and/or participate themselves as speaker/moderator.
ISSM University (separate subcommittee) – review current content and contribute to new content, facilitate alignment with educational content offered by regional affiliate and international certification programs including CME and MJCSM certification.
ISSM Podcasts (separate subcommittee) - – review content, suggest topics, speakers and moderators and/or participate themselves as speaker/moderator.
ISSM Program Endorsements – review and approve requests (2-5 times a year).
ISSM Survey Requests – review and approve requests (2-5 times a year).
Review, develop and improve other educational projects, i.e. the ISSM Ask the Expert initiative.
Propose and execute other new educational projects as appropriate.
In addition, committee members may be asked to contribute to a bi-annual report (mid-term and end of the year), prepared by the committee chair for review by the President and ISSM Board.

Dr. Landon Trost is a Urologist and affiliate faculty at Brigham Young University, specializing in vasectomy reversals, Peyronie’s Disease, and male infertility. He is the Director of the Male Fertility and Peyronie’s Clinic and the President of the charity, CURE PD. He received his undergraduate training at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, medical training at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and residency training in urology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He continued specialty fellowship training in andrology and infertility at Tulane University, University of Florida, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He then served as the Chief of Andrology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN before leaving to his current posting. Dr. Trost is currently serving on the American Urological Association Guideline Panel for Hypogonadism, Peyronie’s Disease, and Priapism, Secretary of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, a member for the American Board of Urology Examination Committee, and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Sexual Medicine. He contributed to the core curriculum material for the American Urological Association on the topics of male hypogonadism and male infertility and was on the guideline panel for penile prostheses, vacuum therapies, traction devices, and vascular surgery for erectile dysfunction during the 2015 International Consultation on Sexual Medicine.

Omer Raheem is an American Board-Certified urologist specializing in men’s sexual health, male infertility and male genitourinary reconstruction in the Section of Urology, department of Surgery. He also holds a joint appointment as an assistant professor of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition, he directs the Men’s Wellness Program and Clinics at the University of Chicago Medical center.
He works closely with the University of Chicago’s Center for Reproductive Medicine and Fertility team to provide care for patients suffering with male factor infertility and supports cancer survivors at the Comprehensive Cancer Center to improve quality of erectile, urinary, and reproductive health in men.
In addition to his clinical work, Raheem is involved in clinical and translational research to better understand patient-reported outcomes in prosthetics and reproductive urology and is studying novel ways to discover biomarkers and therapeutics in the field of sexual and reproductive medicine.
His research has been published in over 125 peer-reviewed publications and eight book chapters, most recently in the Manual of Sperm Retrieval and Preparation in Human Assisted Reproduction 2021 (Cambridge University Press). He is an associate editor of Sexual Medicine and Sexual Medicine Reviews, journals of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America.
Dr Raheem completed his residency in urology at the University of California, San Diego, and a fellowship at the University of Washington. Prior to that, he completed general surgery and urology training at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland, and earned Master of Surgery (MCh) and Master of Science (MSc) degrees from the University of Dublin, Trinity College.

Y. Reisman graduates Cum Laude from the Faculty of Medicine of State University Groningen, The Netherlands. In 1998 he defended his PhD thesis on electronic diagnostic tools and objective medical decisions with a European Clinical database. Since 2002 he has been registered as a urologist. Currently, medical director of Flare-Health and a Consultant at Reuth Rehabilitation Hospital Tel-Aviv. In 2011 he become a registered sexologist by the Dutch Society of sexology (NVVS), for which he received an honorary membership in 2022, and certified sex therapist in Israel. Past-President of the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM), Ex-President of the Multidisciplinary Joint Committee on Sexual Medicine (MJCSM), for which he receives Silver Decoration of Honor from the European Union Medical Specialists (UEMS). Co-director of ESSM School of Sexual Medicine and senior lecturer of Clinical Sexology at the RINO-Amsterdam.
He was responsible for setting up the sexual medicine educational program of the ESSM and establishing of the European-accredited certification examination in Sexual medicine under the umbrella of the UEMS.
Y. Reisman is among others co-editor of the ESSM Manual of Sexual Medicine, The EFS-ESSM Syllabus of Clinical Sexology, Cancer, Intimacy and Sexuality, and The Textbook of Rare Sexual Medicine Conditions.

Rachel Rubin

Dr. Rachel Rubin is a board-certified urologist and sexual medicine specialist. She is an assistant clinical professor of Urology at Georgetown University and owns her private practice in the Washington DC region. She is one of only a handful of physicians in the USA fellowship trained in male and female sexual medicine. Dr. Rubin is a clinician, researcher, and vocal educator in the field of sexual medicine. She completed her medical and undergraduate training at Tufts University, her urology training at Georgetown University, and her fellowship training under Dr. Irwin Goldstein in San Diego. In addition to being education chair for the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH), she also serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal Sexual Medicine Reviews.

Petar Bajic, MD, is a board-certified urologist and sexual medicine specialist in the Center for Men’s Health at Cleveland Clinic’s Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute in Cleveland, Ohio. He is Assistant Professor of Urology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.
Dr. Bajic earned his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine. He undertook his urology residency training at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He followed this by completing a fellowship in Andrology and Male Genital Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. Laurence Levine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
Dr. Bajic is an avid researcher and physician-scientist. He was the recipient of the 2020 SMSNA’s Young Clinicians Research Grant for his work on implant biofilms. His work on prostate enlargement was awarded First Prize in the Chicago Urological Society Charles B. Huggins Resident Essay Contest. Dr. Bajic is Associate Editor for Urology, the Gold Journal, and an Editor for The Journal of Sexual Medicine. He is a regular reviewer for top urology journals including The Journal of Urology and European Urology.
He is chair of the Young Clinicians Committee of the Sexual Society of North America, and holds committee memberships in several professional organizations including the American Urological Association (AUA) and the International Society of Sexual Medicine (ISSM).
Dr. Bajic treats men with all forms of sexual dysfunction including ED, Peyronie’s disease, ejaculatory/orgasmic dysfunction, sexual dysfunction due to cancer treatment, buried penis and low testosterone. He also treats urinary incontinence and prostate issues.
